Fahrenheit 451

Kramer Morgenthau, ASC welcomed AC to the set of this Ramin Bahrani-directed telefilm, which adapts Ray Bradbury’s classic novel of the same name. Michael B. Jordan stars as Guy Montag, a young fireman under the command of Beatty (Michael Shannon) in a dark future where books are verboten, and any that are found are quickly set ablaze. Morgenthau offers his tour of the production, from prep through post.
How to Talk to Girls at Parties

Frank DeMarco reteamed with director John Cameron Mitchell for this big-screen adaptation of the Neil Gaiman short story. In 1977, in the London suburb of Croydon, the alien Zan (Elle Fanning) meets the awkward, punk-rock-loving and decidedly human Enn (Alex Sharp), and embarks on a radical journey of discovery. DeMarco explains his approach to the story, for which he captured both Super 35- and Super 16-format footage with Arri Alexa cameras.
Deadpool 2

Jonathan Sela was behind the camera for this continuation of the comic-book-inspired hijinks of the titular “Merc With a Mouth,” aka Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds), who’s joined by an array of other super-powered mutants, including Domino (Zazie Beetz), Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Cable (Josh Brolin). Sela pulls back the mask to detail his work on the production, which shot in and around Vancouver.
American Animals

Ole Bratt Birkeland partnered with writer-director Bart Layton for this hit feature that premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. Determined to inject their lives with purpose and excitement, four misguided friends (played by Evan Peters, Barry Keoghan, Blake Jenner and Jared Abrahamson) attempt to execute one of the most audacious art heists in U.S. history. Birkeland and his collaborators offer their insights on bringing the true-life tale to the screen.
